Interesting fact:
So I purchased a 4-cd compilation of Jimmy Lunceford tunes (famous swing band leader) yesterday. Ever read the booklets that come with them compilations? Well, I read the following in his booklet:
"On July 12, 1947 Jimmy Lunceford collapsed and died while signing autographs in a record shop in Seaside, Oregon."
Got some fabulous tunes to add to my collection and spin for you all in the near future.
